Morning

Alarm jangles, fingers grapple
Brain still full of cobwebs;
A sigh, a groan, a massive yawn
“Mm-m-morning already?” a voice mumbles
From the ether;
Eyes squeeze tight, block out light
Pretend it was a dream -
Embraced by gentle arms
Of unconsciousness,
Head rests on the shoulder of Slumber.
Alarm jangles!

  2. Hi Weasel,
    glad to make your acquaintance. It took me a while to work out who Marlowe was till I saw the connection with you.
    As you can see I've changed my name, (to protect the innocent Daisy) in preparation for when I'm a published author (think positive!). Its a morph of ancestral names.
